I love hanging out with the older ladies in town. They know their stuff. They also give away their stuff. And I have stuff they want.
I showed up at stitch-in yesterday with some yarn that was Freecycled to me that really wasn't much use, and some knit needles. I left the needles in the car by accident. The yarn was gone in a flash. A lady spoke for the needles. I'll connect with her later this week and hand them over.
But, even nicer, I walked in the room and someone had brought bolts of fabric and stacks of magazines and patterns. I didn't need or want the fabric. But I did look through the stack of magazines and patterns. At first I thought it was just patterns. But I saw the magazines and nabbed them. I need some to do collage projects from a creativity book I'm trying to finish. I have a hard time justifying buying magazines specifically to cut them up! So these freebies were greatly appreciated!
Once again, contacts work!
